I am already in good shape – thin, with good muscle definition, especially in my upper arms (mostly genes, but I racewalk and go to the gym every day, including strength training).

However, I am not flexible – AT ALL. I want to do a type of yoga that can make me flexible! When I was a kid, I could do the splits and it would be cool if I could do it again. Weird, I know.

constant working out and life will tighten muscles. To answer your question every typeof yoga should increase your flexibility hatha yoga being the most popular and most concentrated on the asanas or positions. So I wuld try hatha yoga and good luck.

Bikram’s Hot Yoga. It is also known as torture chamber yoga. It is very intense. They do not play around. See very bottom of site below about book on it.

I never found Bikram yoga to be a torture chamber. It’s hot, yep and you work hard, but it feels great.

As for flexibility, Bikram yoga would be good, but also try vinyasa or hatha yoga.
All yoga promotes flexibility, but I believe those are the styles that will give you more poses that encourage flexibilty.
    Good luck!
